Playing around with a possible theme for the next Art Walk. maybe, Studies in Red. Still early, but I'm having fun . . . have a look at some maybe's.

January Art Walk
So, I am reliably informed that there is yet another Art Walk coming to downtown Concord--on January 30, 2015. I have printed my latest potential contribution to this event. Now all I have to is figure out how I am going to mount/frame my collection.  At any rate, assuming I can get my act together, I will display a collection of artsy pieces I am billing as a walk on the abstract side . . . Here they are . . .
Well it's a few days later, and I just decided to add one more piece for the Art Walk, just for the hell of it . . . it's at the end, so scroll down.

November Art Walk

So. keep open November 21st for the Art Walk downtown. Space is being made available by the Salloum's at the Piedmont Renaissance Center in downtown Concord. I am working now on some art for that display venue.  Selections include an eclectic mix of old and new, garden and urban. Some of my current likes.. They may include some or all of the following.

August (non) Art Walk

So, as predicted, the Art Walk planned for August 22nd will have to do without any aspiring/itinerant artists displaying at the old bank building.  The Arts Council is encouraging artists to display on the lawn outside the old courthouse, but that seems a bit like establishing a homeless venue outside the master's mansion. Besides, what's the probability of rain that night? It is August after all.  So, I think we (I) will skip this next Art Walk. So, enjoy the collections at our several local galleries where the real artists hang out folks--the Art Guild at 11 Union, the Sundae Art Gallery above the ice creamery on Union, and of course the displays at our local shoppes, like Little Feather and Gianni's, and the Chocolatiere.

September Art

So, June art has come and gone. The Art Walk was a bit disappointing, given that there were only four artists displaying at our usual place in the old bank building. Reality may have finally set in, and that may represent the last of the old generation of Art Walks in Concord. In the new model, the Art walks may well be a stroll from one permanent art gallery to another, with no space for itinerant artisans who do not display at regular, permanent galleries. That used to be my main source of entertainment at the old generation Art Walks--seeing the 20-30 artists who displayed a wonderful range of artistic disciplines. I guess they have all become "professional artists" with permanent display space.  This is good and bad, I guess. The good part is that Concord now has professional art galleries within the downtown area. That helps to make Concord a "destination of choice" for lovers of art (and fine food-see Gianni's and The Chocolatiere).  The bad part is that artisans, like me--casual artists who have no pretensions to being professional artists--may no longer have display space. Ah well, everything eventually comes to an end.
But should it not end right now, and should there be another display opportunity, here are some potential pieces. I am calling this Nature,  Great and Small . . . so here goes . . .

June Art

So, where has the time gone? June. Been traveling . . . up to New England and back, to see our grandson graduate from high school. Nice affair and good for him. Now it's off to college and then . . . real life
But in the meantime, we will have another Art Walk.  June 20th, 6-9 PM  So, here's what I'm thinking at the moment . . . Oh, I removed a few from my last musings. So, there'll be six framed and behind glass in 16 x 20 size and four on canvas in sizes ranging from 16 x 26 to 16 x 32. And I just added another picture, shown here on top. It will be in a frame behind glass in 19 x 40 size.
