Spring Art Walk

Ok, so maybe old man winter has given up and Spring is actually coming. Now, every time I say that, the old fart comes roaring back dropping his little white stuff all over the landscape. Still, he has to go away at some point.  So, now we can start thinking of Springy things, and what could be more Springy than an Art Walk? So, we have another one coming up, this time it's April 4th at the usual 6-9 PM. I will be displaying in the usual place, the old Bank Building across the street from the Old Courthouse (where the real art is displayed).  So come one come all to see my latest pseudo-art displays. Here's what will be appearing, some on canvas, some behind frames.

I like the idea of repurposing old things (like me). I have been buying some frames and old framed pictures at CVAN's store and then reusing the frames for my own pseudoart.  I bought two rather large frames--25 x 35 size, with picture openings of 18 x 25. That's a bit larger than my usual. So, I crafted a couple of my pictures to fit and will include the new framed pictures in the April Art Walk. I'm getting rather too many pictures, but what the hell . . . Here are the two new ones. They look quite handsome in their new frames, but you will have to come to the Art Walk to see them.

 

 

 

 

Spring

Spring
No, no, it's not yet Spring and the Spring Art Walk is not just around the corner. Everything in good time. But it's coming, soon, to a neighborhood near you . . . well maybe not if your neighborhood is in Minnesota or even Punxhetawney, Pennsylvania where that wuss Phil lives.  But maybe in Concord. I know, maybe if we all clap for the Tinker Bell Spring Fairy, she will emerge into a Spring Wonderland, and banish that cranky old man Winter back to the Twin Cities where he resides most of the time. In the meantime, looking desperately for a sign or two of Spring, I caught the guys hanging out in the pond, probably thanking us for removing the net. They are all present and accounted, thank you.

And then, I went looking for other signs. No bulbs yet, although rumors of them are floating about.  But Harry Lauder is showing signs of life.

And then we observed our Amaryllis bulb had sprouted and we showed it off last evening at dinner.  Surely that is a sign of Spring, no??

Wintry Art

The Art Walk is coming soon to downtown Concord--January 31st. Here are the likely candidate art selections I will be displaying.  Obviously a winter theme has been struck here, but also a few signs of an upcoming Spring, plus a little just fooling around abstracts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

November Art Walk

The November art Walk is just around the corner, November 22nd to be exact. Here are my latest creations for that event.

Pond Life

The pond and back garden continue to contribute to our lives and our connections to nature. This morning, it seemed teeming with life, critters, flora in abundance.  Sitting there in the morning or evening makes you realize how wonderful life can be.

Pond Display

The pond continues to explode in growth, especially the several plants sitting in the middle, and, of course, the lilies.

But as we walked outside from our little porch to head towards the pond this morning, the floral display greeting us was quite wonderful. First the Hibiscus . . .

 

Then the rose mallow finally burst forth into color, after a several weeks wait while dozens of buds gathered.

 

And of course, the rose mallow sits amidst a display of our hummingbird vines and flowers that the little hummers love to suck on.
